As soon as she was old enough to lift a sword, Lycia dedicated herself to a life in service of her patron and ancestor Polemis, goddess of War. Such were her loyalty and ferocity that Polemis soon selected Lycia as the champion, the general, then ultimately the queen of the Amazons, granting her dominion of the Amazonia queendom on the Eastern fringes of Gladvald. There she leads a legion of wild, voracious warrior women in violent opposition to the Empire’s aggressive expansionism.
Like other military leaders, Lycia routinely risks dying in battle, and lives under constant threat of assassination. But unlike other leaders, Lycia also has to contend with an additional career hazard: kidnapping. For every king, duke and lord in Gladvald, marriage to Lycia – the most formidable and desirable of the Amazons – would be the ultimate ego-boosting prize, and the Amazon Queen can’t count how many foolish spies have tried to bundle her into a sack and carry her off to some far-flung kingdom. Actually, she could count them if she could be bothered, seeing as she has every single one of their heads on a spear.
Lycia is now both old enough and strong enough not only to lift a sword in each hand, but to throw them simultaneously. She unleashes this particular attack after several of her own Champions have fallen, always targeting the enemy with the highest Health. If that enemy’s Health is below 50%, then the attack will result in a potentially game-changing kill. So commanders employing Lycia should use a spread-out formation and deploy Champions with area-of-effect attacks. This way, the damage her Champions inflict should be as evenly distributed as possible, and the healthiest enemy is therefore more likely to be at below 50%.
